Bothwell Castle Golf Club position of Assistant Greenkeeper to work within the current team of 6 full time Greenstaff, 1 Full time gardner, & 5 part time assistants.

Bothwell castle is a private members Golf Club with 18 holes covering 6224 yds and a par 70. Bothwell Castle Golf Club was officially opened on the 16th of June 1923 by the Earl of Home (father of Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas Home). The course covered a 110 acre site situated between the 13th century castle and the then small village of Bothwell.

Bothwell Castle Golf Club operates a unique rota system whereby our team are guaranteed to work only 4.5 days all year round with longer hours in the summer and short in the winter months. We offer good rates of pay and provide full PPE and normal day to day work clothing for each employee.

Suitable candidates for the full-time position will be qualified to a minimum NVQ level 1, 2 preferred and preferably holding spraying certificates PA1 and PA6a. A good understanding of general green keeping practices and a positive attitude are essential.

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience but ranging between £14k & £16.5k

Applications are invited for a apprentice greenkeeper
Haggs Castle Golf Club is seeking a motivated individual to join our team of Greenkeepers at this busy 18-hole course. You will be required to play an important role in ensuring that the golf course is maintained to the highest standard. The successful candidate will work closely with the greens team and will be involved with the preparation, maintenance, development of all grass areas, bunkers and tees. You will also be required to maintain equipment and adhere to all relevant Club Rules & Health & Safety guidelines.
You need to be a team player and have the ability to work well with colleagues. You will also be required to work on your own i.e. carrying out set tasks and work schedules using your own initiative.
A knowledge of Golf and or golf courses would be an advantage.

Vacancy Assistant Greenkeeper

The Williamwood Golf Club is a parkland, private members golf club located in the south side of Glasgow, which is maintained to the highest standard achievable.  The Club’s main focus implemented by Course Manager  Gerry Bruen and Jay Dobsen the Club’s Agronomist is to produce firm playing surfaces with a view to promote and sustain the finer grasses.
The vacancy of Assistant Greenkeeper has arisen and is an excellent opportunity to join a hardworking and committed team.

Below we have listed the responsibilities and qualifications required.

Applicants will, as a minimum, be expected to demonstrate a proven track record of the following:

A flexible approach to work, work hours and weekend duties.
Must hold NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification and 3 years’ experience.
PA1, PA6 spraying certificates.
Be able to work to the highest of standards and possess a keen attention to detail with an ability to provide the best

It would be an advantage but not essential to have:
PA2 spraying certificate.

Good working knowledge and maintenance of fine turf machinery.

Hamilton Golf Club was founded in 1892 and the course was developed to its current layout in 1925 by the renowned course designer James Braid. The Club is one of the premier clubs in South Lanarkshire and retains a high playing membership. Currently we are project managing considerable investment in the course and its facilities.

Hamilton Golf Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team of Greenkeepers at this busy 18-hole course. ·         Previous experience as a Greenkeeper or equivalent sports turf experience.
·         Practical interest in machinery maintenance.
·         PA1, and PA6 chemical application licenses
·         Chain Saw license desirable but not essential

Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Assistant Greenkeeper at The Bishopbriggs Golf Club in the heart of Bishopbriggs town centre to join our dedicated green keeping team, working to present the golf course to the highest possible standard.
Bishopbriggs Golf Club is perhaps the best in the area, our course is a traditional parkland style with thoughtful design, beautifully landscaped and maintained, to provide the perfect balance of beauty and challenge. Our unique feature is a largely flat course with no tricks or blind shots; the course presents itself to you on each tee and encourages you to play your best.

Our custom built practice area, including all weather covered bays and mats as well as grass bays and short game areas, is second to none and is one of the benefits we offer which is hard to match.


Reporting to the Course Manager the ideal candidates will ideally have:
·         A minimum of 2/3 years in a green keeping role
·         To operate competently and demonstrate an understanding of the latest green keeping equipment and analyse how their performance affects playing surfaces on the golf course
·         An understanding and implementation of practical green keeping skills
·         Minimum NVQ 2 or equivalent & PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates
·         First aid and chainsaw certificates are also desirable but not essential
·         A strong work ethic and enthusiasm to be part of a team
·         A knowledge and understanding of the game of golf and how the work of the green staff impacts upon the golfer
·         Trustworthiness to work alone and in both small and large teams
·         Receptive to key instructions but complement your duties with your own creativity, imagination and intuition
The Assistant Greenkeeper position is full-time, permanent based on a 39 hour week with weekend working on a rota basis.

Are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper. He/she will have previous experience within the industry and ideally be qualified to a minimum of SVQ level 2.
The position is offered initially on a zero hours contract with the expectation that the succesful candidate will move to a salaried position in the future.
Rate of pay is £6.75 per hour with 40+ hours per week expected to be offered.
Spraying certificates and/or a chainsaw licence would be considered an advantage.
