New chairman's words
Gentleman
Firstly John on behalf of the
west section members we thank you for representing the section as chairman and
I hope you have good memories in doing so.
I accepted John proposal to
be vice chairman over a few refreshments I think at Harrogate
this year and I must say I am thrilled to do so.
I have been a member of Bigga
since I was 16 some twenty years now and have been affiliated to not only the
west section but also Northern
Ireland
My first boss Brian Bolland past
chairman always promoted the benefits of the section and encouraged his staff
to attend events not only golf outings but education seminars and still does to this
day.
I have always tried to follow
Brain’s example and would ask that if you are in a position to allow your staff
to attend events or you are a trade member then please do so not only for the
benefits it would bring the member but also a lot of committee time and effort goes
into the organising these days.
I would like to thank Fraser
and Gavin for keeping the business side of the section running smoothly and in
order, also Stuart Taylor for our section news in the Bigga magazine and committee
members for giving up their free time to help run the section.
So thank you I look forward
to my chairmanship and seeing you all at Bigga events in the future.
